Based on a question from the forums
- I'm at a roadblock!! Got my first of four Lynx built, I have my Pro dongle, but thats where the pavement ends.. Can someone post how does the Pro get wired? The Lynx manual says Lynx Cat5 pins 1, 2 get wired to DMX's pins 2, 3.. well, I identified pins 2, 3 on the DMX Pro, but which jack, the DMX IN or OUT? On the Cat5 cable, which are pins 1, 2? Can someone ID Cat5 pins 1, 2 by the color pairs? Pictures.. anyone got pictures of theirs?
- The |Datasheet for the Prois at the Enttec website
- This Website shows the pinouts for the 5 pin XLR
- Pin 1 = Ground
- Pin 2 = Signal -ve
- Pin 3 = Signal +ve
- These pin numbers are true for both 5-pin and 3-pin connectors, although strictly speaking 3-pin connectors should not be used as they don't comply with the official DMX512 standard.
- For CAT 5 Pinouts Wikipedia has a great little article and pictures.
- From the Enttec Pro Dongle you would use the Out connector, the input is optional use.
